
Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) has been an active SIGN Program since 2008. For the past nine years, MOI has partnered with SIGN and IGOT to host a trauma course for surgeons across Africa.

After a flood swept through the city of Manyara, the SIGN Team at Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital organized an outreach program to help their neighbors, 300km away!

Nkoaranga Lutheran Hospital is located just off a busy freeway that runs between Tanzania and Kenya. Nearly 90% of the 2300 SIGN Patients treated here had been injured in road traffic accidents.

Dr. Ernest Ibenzi (left) is the SIGN Program Manager at Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital and for his Traveling SIGN Set. Under his guidance, more than 4800 people have received healing care.

Dr. Billy Haonga (left) has partnered with SIGN for almost 20 years. In 2021, he received his own Traveling SIGN Set. Dr. Haonga visits hospitals around Tanzania, instructing surgeons in the SIGN Technique.

Dr. Sam Kiwesa works tirelessly to treat patients who arrive at Nkoaranga Lutheran Hospital. He oversaw the construction of a new operating theatre in 2023, adding three new ORs to Nkoaranga.
